What it is

Our existing directory has specialist coverage of Latin and Afro-Latin dance, including salsa, bachata, kizomba, and zouk, weekly socials and multi-day festivals. Listings can come from public sources or organizers; their source and checked-date information help you assess what is known.

The wider aim is to help people create, discover and return to public experiences. Coverage varies by place and activity. A listing describes one event; it is not a recommendation, a guarantee, or proof that every event in that city is included.

Counts come from the same public directory as the rest of this site. That is curated listings unioned with public organizer-submitted rows. Cities and countries are directory entries, including places those listings name. They are not ticket sales, attendance, a ranking, or a sitemap URL count. See How current the listings are.

How current the listings are

A checked date records the review date stored with a listing. It describes our review, not the event: it does not guarantee that the organizer has reconfirmed the next occurrence. A recently generated page or export does not mean every source was checked again that day.

A weekly social goes stale at 90 days and a festival at 60. Anything past its threshold, and anything we have never checked at all, is treated as stale and shows a link to verify the listing rather than being presented as current.

What this does not mean: we are not calling the organizer the night before. Plans change after a check, so check the source links on a listing and confirm important details with the organizer before making plans.
